    RRP $62.00 $39.95

If you have never sampled a proper Piedmont nebbiolo, this is a must-have! We have never tried nebbiolo made outside of this region that tastes quite like it. Langhe is the principal nebbiolo growing region within Piedmont and spans across its 2 most famous towns - Barolo and Barbaresco. This Langhe nebbiolo is superb and on a blind tasting you would swear it was a far more expensive Barolo. An absolute bargain at this price!

    RRP $52.00 $33.95

Tuscany has been cultivated for wine for 2800 years so it’s no wonder that they know something about making wine. After our first sip of this Tuscan sangiovese we looked at each other and knew this one was coming home with us! An intense ruby red colour greets you in the glass while the aromas of soured fruit and violet ooze out. It comes with super soft tannins and a perfect balance of earth and fruit. A super-duper Chianti!

    SEE REVIEW
    RRP $35.00 $22.95

Prosecco can be dated back to 1593 and is the world’s most popular sparkling wine. This drop has been skilfully produced by a small artisan vineyard that has been family run for several generations. This one has incredible long lasting, fine bead, comes bursting in with a perfect pale straw colour and on the palate reveals elegant flavours of honeydew melon and pear. A gem!

  • Jaillance Crémant de Loire Brut NV
    SEE REVIEW
    RRP $44.00 $29.95

The first vines were planted in the Loire Valley almost 2,000 years ago, so it should come as no surprise that these master winemakers would produce this superb French sparkling wine. It has that signature super-fine bead, synonymous with French fizz, and reveals touches of peach, nectarine and apple. On a blind tasting, we would swear it was very finessey Champagne!

The steaks have never been higher.

These days everyone's a food critic! Make every meal sing with perfectly paired artisan wines. We show you how to match every wine!

Popsy & JJ: Australia’s Most Trusted European Wine Reviewers

Thousands of wines reviewed!

At Popsy & JJ, we know a good wine when we taste it.

We decided to take one for the team and set out to try and review as many wines out there as we can – and although we’ve only just made a dent in the rich and wonderfully inexhaustible world of wines, we’ve reviewed thousands of wines to date and made a tough call to select the best wines for our online shop, ready to be shared and enjoyed by our wine-loving friends all over Australia!

So, where did it all start?

Well, Popsy & JJ goes back further than 15 years to when we first met (we being Paul and Jonathon, the ‘Popsy’ and ‘JJ’ behind the brand!). Having in common one of the biggest loves of our lives – good food and good wine – we were called to share our great interest in the artisan wine industry with Australia, making these European wines more easily accessible to everyone.

Fast forward a couple of years, too many bottles of wine to count and a highly ambitious mission to source the best artisan wines from Europe back to Australia, and we reckon we’re well on our way to achieve our goal. Popsy & JJ is a joyous, creative and honest space where there’s only room for the things that lift the spirits and deepen our appreciation for the finer things in life.

Your Go-To Online Wine Reviews

If you haven’t realised it by now, we can talk about wine for hours!

Our reviews are full of colour and flavour, giving you every detail you need to know to make the best and most informed decision before buying your next bottle.

From historical and environmental background about the origin and specified growth regions of each wine to the flavour, aroma, colour, texture and structure, our all-inclusive reviews will make you feel as though you’re sipping on that glass of wine with us!

We even give you the low-down on which glass to serve for each wine as well as the recommended storage period for each variety.

Enjoying a good wine is one thing but finding the perfect food and wine combinations that bring out the best, most luxurious flavours in each is a completely different ball game.

If you’ve always found it challenging to find that sweet spot between food and wine, you can rely on our love for all things food to give you amazing ideas for pairings that’ll blow you away. From crispy-skin barramundi fillet and mushroom linguini to Moroccan lamb backstrap or a good old cheese platter… Our mouths are already watering!

And because we know that taste differs greatly from one wine-drinker to the next, we each give our own takes on every wine we taste to give you a more representative account of our experience.

How to Buy Our Wine Online

Selecting the perfect wine can be a long and even daunting experience. There’s so much to take into consideration! What is the occasion? Who will you be sharing it with? Which foods will you pair it with? This is certainly not something we take lightly!

But worry not – we’ve got you covered.

Even if you don’t know the first thing about wine, rest assured that you can wow your dinner guests by unveiling a prime bottle of red, white, rosé, sparkling or sweet wine – and even stun them with trivia about the north-eastern region of Italy where the microclimate of the Alps influenced the pigment and texture of the hand-picked grapes… Vaguely taking a whiff at your glass of wine and cautiously commenting on its “fruity smell” is something of the past!

So, how does it work?

Like we said, we curate the best artisan wines from Europe and beyond and make them available for purchase on our website. Read through our reviews, watch the videos where we discuss the wine and food matching, and then simply add them to your cart once you’ve made your choice!

We even have a taster pack of three bottles and another of six bottles if you wish to be transported to Europe’s most iconic vineyards – right from the comfort of your living room.

So, is everyone’s glasses full? We’re so excited that you’re here and can’t wait for you to join us on this wine-filled journey!
